Mylopotamos & Sitia extra virgin olive oils, one of the best in Crete, are second prize Mario Solinas award winners of the International Council of Olive Oil Producers.
This excellent oil is cultivated in the area of Mylopotamos, south of the town of Rethimnon.
The European Union has designated this region as the area of appellation origin, thus recognizing the high quality of the olive oil produced there.
The oil is extracted from the fruit of the olive tree variety called “Koroneiko”, it is particularly light and clean, with a distinctive aroma and probably the best oil to be used as dressing.
Extra virgin olive oil is extracted by means of slow cold pressing, with mechanical mean and is subject to strict quality control and examination.
Due to this procedure of production, it easily maintains its full taste and flavour, as well as its excellent nourishing properties.
