The background of traditional bakery products goes back to a time when Greece’s  countryside, as well as all of the Mediterranean, was once filled with herdsmen and farmers who had little time to prepare fresh bread on a daily basis. Because of this, people had to find a way to extend the life of their bread.

This led to the discovery of a revolutionary method of baking fresh bread (a purely home made patent) and turning it to a product that would last for weeks and more.

This ultimately made it possible to consume as a “fresh” product on their long journeys, of course accompanied by their cured meats and delicious home-made wine.

Today, these products are still hand-made and still as nutritious as before, due the natural ingredients used, and still is an important supplement of almost all Greek menus.
